CONTEXT
The increase in life expectancy and the growing share of certain risk factors such as diabetes and chronic renal failure lead to an increase in the prevalence of calcified coronary lesions. Atherectomy techniques (rotational and orbital) and intracoronary lithotripsy are the two main techniques for preparing calcified lesions before placement of a coronary stent.
GOALS
Comparison of the Effectiveness and Safety of Intracoronary Lithotripsy Procedures With Rotational Atherectomy Procedures in the Short and Long Term
METHODOLOGY
Descriptive analysis and comparison between 2 groups (IVL and RA)
(Comparison of basic clinical characteristics, comparison of angiographic and procedural characteristics (procedure duration, fluoroscopy time, etc.), multivariate analysis / Propensity score concerning the judgment criteria)
Subgroup studies (left common trunk vs. other locations, bifurcation vs. other lesions, ACS vs. stable coronary artery disease, diabetic patients)
