CONTEXT
In the current state of knowledge, it is clear that chronic coronary occlusion lesions are frequent coronary damage in cases of associated coronary artery disease, with higher mortality and an unfavorable prognosis. Observational data have demonstrated that successful percutaneous recanalization of chronic coronary occlusion is associated with improved prognosis. Furthermore, there are significant gender-related differences in the occurrence and prognosis of acute coronary syndromes. Concerning stable coronary artery disease including chronic coronary occlusions, some studies highlight a difference in the prevalence of carriers of chronic coronary occlusions between men and women. However, the data is still contradictory. Some of these studies also suggest that mortality in women with chronic coronary occlusions is lower than in men.
GOALS
To evaluate and compare, according to gender, the prognosis of patients following an attempt at recanalization of a chronic coronary occlusion.
To determine whether gender constitutes an independent factor associated with the occurrence of a cardiovascular event one year after a revascularization procedure for a chronic coronary occlusion.
METHODOLOGY
Comparative analysis of categorical variables, discrete variables
Multivariate analysis
All clinical variables (age, sex, reason, symptoms, documented ischemia, Killip stage, LVEF, etc.), coronary anatomical variables (mono/bi) could be considered as adjustment variables integrated into the final logistic regression model. /tritroncular, etc.), and procedural (angioplasty success/failure, etc.) collected systematically as part of the France-PCI register.
