CONTEXT
Helicopter transport is proposed in the management of medical-surgical emergencies, based on a hypothetical time saving and clinical benefit. The use of this mode of transport is likely to shorten the reperfusion times for acute coronary syndromes with ST-segment elevation (STEMI) compared to land transport.
GOALS
Evaluate the delays observed in the France-PCI register over the period 2014-2022 for STEMI between the first medical contact and admission to the catheterization room depending on the mode of transport for the patient population managed remotely from the center of interventional cardiology.
METHODOLOGY
Reperfusion rates in less than 2 hours will be studied as will comparisons between theoretical times by land (Waze, Mappy or Via Michelin application depending on postal code) and actual times. Group analyzes will be carried out (flat region/mountainous region, rural region/urban region, short distances/long distances) in order to try to identify the target population which could benefit from helicopter transport and those for whom this option is neutral. even harmful.
Statistical work will make it possible to match the populations. The impact of transport after adjustment could also be tested on one-year survival.
